The good part was that the Orbit worked fine. It's cabinet was not very good and some circuit boards were missing. I found a 950A for sale on Craigslist and bought it for parts. The sine wave section of the Orbit still did not work. By replacing these, the power supply was freed up and I had a partially working instrument. After replacing the power cord to the Leslie motors, I found some shorted capacitors in the Orbit Synth section. I purchased a service manual from Moorlock's and dug in. I have owned it since june 2010 and have made some real progress in the restoration. Three weeks later, the seller accepted my offer and it was mine. I wanted a price that would allow me to convert it to Miditzer if all else failed. Too bad the price was out of my range for an organ that might not ever work again. I looked it over and the cherrywood furniture was in real nice condition. After searching Craigslist, I found a 950TA for sale nearby. I am new to the hobby and wanted to start at a beginner level. To me, it would be unreasonable for me to install one in my house, so I opted for an electronic theater organ. I blame this on the pizza pipe organ places we went to when I was a kid. I have always had an interest in pipe organs.
